If you start in the wrong spot, even the simplest instructions won't get you where you need to be. The church at Colossae was struggling. Instead of correcting all of the mistakes they had made, the Apostle Paul went back to the starting place: Jesus. Specifically, who Jesus is and what He did. It would be nice if there was a book of the Bible written directly to you. A letter from an Apostle that spoke directly to what you needed. There are a few people who got that privilege, but none of them are us. But, what if there was a book written to people who were very similar to us and who were in a similar situation to us? That would be almost as good, right? Paul writes a letter to a church that was from a different culture and time than we are, but was in a very similar situation to ours. This week, Pastor Ben Hightower takes us through the beginning of the book of Colossians to see what Paul would say to us if he was writing a letter to Solid Rock.
