Camp Rock is our free annual Camp for kids from 4 years - 6th Grade. This year is going to be our best year yet! We offer three tracks to choose from: Sports Camp, Lego Camp, and Art Camp. Kids can also choose to repeat a track and get even better at the skills they learn in the first track.
Coach Rick Rachel runs our Sports Camp. Coach Rick was a football coach for 43 years and has a lot to teach your kids about sports, working as a team, and sportsmanship. Sports Camp will be divided into two age groups: going into K - going into 3rd and going into 4th - going into 7th. On Day 1, the older kids will focus on the fundamentals of basketball and will get a chance to play after half time. On Day 2, the kids will review fundamentals, but will spend most of the day playing and being coached. The younger kids will learn the fundamentals of baseball by learning to play wiffleball along with some other skill developing games. Days 3 and 4 will repeat this process, but this time with football for the older kids and kickball for the younger.
Lego Camp is our most popular track. The kids will have a challenge for the day, divide into teams, and learn to co-oporate in accomplishing their task for the day. This isn't just playing with legos. The kids will have to learn to work together to accomplish specific tasks. They'll have to exercise their creativity to solve problems and move their team forward. Your kid is not going to want to miss this. This track is capped at 40 participants. (Lego Track 1 has closed.)
In Art Camp, the kids will learn a new skill and complete a different art project each day. They'll learn the skills to perform their different arts and will have a chance to create art of their own. This track is capped at 40 participants. (Both art tracks have closed.)
Each day will start with an opening rally and some games to get everyone excited. Then, everyone will move to Session 1 of their track. After Session 1, we'll have half time where the kids will hear our Bible Story for the day. After half-time, it's dinner time where the kids will eat and discuss the story. Then it's time for Session 2 of their track. After Session 2 is our closing rally with some more games and prep for tomorrow.
Please arrive early on Wednesday. We run from 6-8:30, but check-in will take some time on the first night. You can drop them off by 5:55 the other nights, but you need to be here early tomorrow.
Stay in your car at pickup time. Pickup will start at 8:30. We'll have a ton of kids to keep track of, so we ask that you allow us to bring your children to you, rather than you coming inside to get them. At registration, you'll be given a pickup tag. Please put this on your dash and get in line in the parking lot. We'll bring your child to you. If you would like someone else to pick them up, give them the pickup tag and follow the same procedure. If you or your designated pick-up person do not have your pickup tag, you will be directed to park and wait until we call the number on your child's registration to verify your information.
There is no need to send food or drinks with your child. We'll provide a meal and water for anyone that needs it. Dress them appropriately if they're in a sports track, but otherwise, they don't need anything other than themselves.
Come to our family day on Sunday! We'll have our regular service at 10 with an awards ceremony and lunch to follow. We'll also have some of the projects on display and the fields will be set up so that they can show you what they learned.
