Plan Your Visit
“Welcome! We are so glad you’ve found us. At Solid Rock, we believe the church is meant to be a family, not just a place you attend. Our mission is to glorify God by teaching His Word and living as His family, and we're excited to share that with you. We've put this page together to answer your questions, and we look forward to getting to know you soon.”
Ben Hightower, Pastor
Plan Your Visit
Visiting a church for the first time can feel uncomfortable, so we want to remove as many unknowns as possible before you walk in. To help, we've written this guide so you know what to expect when you visit Solid Rock.
Our Sunday Service
We Start @ 10 We usually finish around 11:15.
What Sundays Are Like
Our gathering includes:
Worship through music
Teaching from the Bible
Prayer and time to reflect
Our Pastor usually preaches through books of the Bible and uses the English Standard Version (ESV). Teaching is straightforward, Scripture-driven, and focused on helping people grow as followers of Jesus.
What You Won’t Be Asked to Do
As a guest:
You won’t be asked to introduce yourself publicly
You won’t be asked to give
You won’t be put on the spot
Just come as you are.
Here’s what we will ask you to do.
Take a free gift. It’s coffee from Airship and info about our ministries.
Fill out a guest card. We will not show up at your house. We just want to send you a text or email and mail you a card.
Say hi. We’re friendly. We won’t make you stand up and introduce yourself, but we are going to come by and say hi.
Parking & Entrances
Our parking lot is small and easy to navigate, with one entrance.
There are two main doors:
Main Entrance (left): Go here if you’re coming straight into the service
Kids Entrance (right): Go here if you’re checking in children
If you’re unsure where to go, just ask one of our volunteers. Our Welcome Team staff each entrance, so there will be someone at each door to answer your questions.
For the Kids
Nursery (Infants–2 years):
Available for the entire service.
Kids (3 years–6th grade):
Kids begin in the service with their families and are dismissed after the music to their classes. You’re always welcome to keep your kids with you if you prefer. Learn more about our Kid’s Ministry here.
Safety:
All kids must be checked in prior to the service. When you check out, bring the tag you received at check in so we know we’re giving your kid to the right person. Each kid receives a name tag with any allergies or special needs listed so that our volunteers know what to watch for.
All volunteers working with children have passed a background check. There are two volunteers in every kids area whenever kids are present.
All doors to the building are locked when the service starts. Anyone who enters must be allowed in by our safety volunteers.
Special Needs
Our Approach
We don’t have a separate special-needs ministry, but we work to accommodate families within our existing ministries. If your child has specific needs, use this form to reach out to our Children’s Director. We’ll do our best to accommodate your child’s needs.
We also offer an Overflow Room with a live video stream and adjustable volume for anyone who needs a quieter space during the service. Head out of the sanctuary, turn right, then turn right again down the hallway. The Overflow Room is through the third and fourth doors on your left.
After the Service
We finish up with what we call an “Invitation”. This isn’t a high pressure “make a decision” time, but a chance for you to respond to God. You can stay right where you are or you can come up for prayer. You’re free to do whatever you like. There will be a final song and prayer. That’s it for the day.
If you checked in kids, go pick them up. Nursery kids will be where you left them. Older kids will be in the Children’s Area. Head out of the sanctuary, go the left, and go back through the double doors into the Children’s Entrance. PreK kids will be down the hall to the right. Older kids will be through the next set of double doors straight ahead.
Our Pastor is usually standing at main entrance for anyone that wants to talk. If you filled out a guest card, plesae drop it in the offering box on the round table at the main entrance. It’s the black metal box.
Many stay and talk after the service. If you’re thinking about grabbing lunch, there’s a good chance someone else will be too. You’re also free to head out right away no pressure either way.
