Our Goal

We want to prepare teens to live out their faith after high school. Our goal is to build on the foundation laid in Kids Ministry and help them apply biblical truth to everyday life. We also want every student to be an active part of the church now—not just later—so the transition to adulthood feels natural. By connecting teens with caring adults in the church, we help them form lasting relationships that will keep them in church long after teen group ends.

Our Method

Each semester, we focus on two in-depth teaching units that tackle the real-life topics teens face. From apologetics to biblical finances, our lessons are designed to equip students to think and live biblically. After each unit, we wrap up with a review game night—a fun way to reinforce what they’ve learned and celebrate their growth together.

Wednesdays

During the school year, we meet every Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Each night includes a meal, a game, and a Bible lesson designed to challenge and encourage students in their faith.

Our Sponsors

Our teen ministry is led by four adults who are passionate about helping students know and follow Jesus: our Teen Director, Emily Cacioppo, Destin Cacioppo, Brittney Hightower, and our Pastor, Ben Hightower. Each of them works to connect teens to Christ and to the life of the church. Every sponsor has passed a background check and follows strict accountability guidelines to ensure our students are safe and cared for.

Special Events

We plan several big events throughout the year to help teens grow in faith and community. In addition to these, we host monthly hangout nights—unless a major event is scheduled that month. These events are open only to teens, their sponsors, and parents, creating a safe and focused environment for connection and fun.

  • Winter Haven (January)

  • Youth Conference (April)

  • Teen Camp (June)

Service

We believe serving others is a vital part of following Jesus. That’s why we encourage every teen to start serving in the church as soon as they join our ministry. Serving helps them discover their gifts, build relationships with other believers, and grow in spiritual maturity. We also help students track their volunteer hours so they can count toward high school service requirements.

Emily Cacioppo

Emily has been a member of Solid Rock for several years and leads our Teen Ministry with a genuine love for students and their walk with Christ. She and her husband, Destin, have two children and are both actively involved in the life of our church.
Emily’s own experiences as a teenager give her a deep compassion for students as they navigate faith, identity, and life’s challenges. Her heart is to help every teen know Jesus personally and grow into confident, faithful adults who stay connected to the church.
